Liverpool, Anthony Taylor and Jurgen Klopp are probably 3 names that since Klopp’s appointment as Liverpool’s manager, never mixed well together. There has been a bit of rift, tension when both of them meet, with Jurgen Klopp the alleged loser in many of those meetings.
And ahead of a high tension premier league fixture next weekend, between two arch rivals, Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford, all 3 are set to meet again.
For the Liverpool fanbase, a lot of rage is going down on X, formerly known as Twitter, with fans of the Merseyside club alleging a plan to sabotage Liverpool’s bid for a second premier league title under the German tactician.
Liverpool currently sit top of the premier league table with 2 and 3-points separating them with the second and third placed teams in the table. Though they may fall behind depending on whichever results both EPL title rivals churn up in mid-week, Liverpool can regain top spot with a win over Sheffield United in mid-week.
However, the interesting fixture comes in the North West derby that pits Liverpool against Manchester United at Old Trafford, a ground that has held a dark shadow over Jurgen Klopp since his appointment as manager. Most of those games have seen Anthony Taylor as the matchday official in charge of officiating the tie.
The history and the man named at the center of the affairs in the weekend clash has raised lots of concerns in fans’ hearts as Liverpool’s second premier league title in 34-years hangs in the balance.
Great green initiative from the PGMOL, Anthony Taylor can walk to the stadium since heβs actually from Manchester. https://t.co/NZDhDnaGll

This will mean that we've only had 2 league games this year where one of David Coote, Paul Tierney and Anthony Taylor weren't involved. And one of those two still had Simon Hooper. https://t.co/9md6jHn4dO

Really wish we'd known what was at stake before using our referee banishment card on Darren England

CONFIRMED: Anthony Taylor will be referee for Manchester Utd v Liverpool on Sunday. β
You'd think PGMOL would select someone not from Manchester for this level of game! π pic.twitter.com/jDUJJmPqqn
