Predictions for Premier League mid-week games

Hostile waves wash ashore another premier league match day as the mid-week games crawl up to pit teams against each other post the Easter festivities, and TopNaija returns with its predictions for the respective fixtures.

The fixtures kickoff on tonight, Tuesday 2nd April starting with Newcastle United 19:30 Everton.

With the Magpies giving neutrals and fans an exciting premier league clash last weekend, a lot of expectations fall on them to deliver another cracker in mid-week against a struggling Everton side. However, like they say, thunder never strikes twice at same spot, but the question is, can the Toffees surprise us all?

We predict this tie to give fans a 2-0 win in favor of Newcastle United.

Nottingham Forest 19:30 Fulham takes place concurrently as Forest will be looking to step up from the relegation narratives. A win against Fulham at the City Ground, will give Nottingham an advantage over Luton Town who are currently steeped on same points as them.
In our premier league predictions, we see Nuno Espirito Santo’s side carving out a hard fought 2-1 win in front of its home fans.
Bournemouth 19:45 Crystal Palace in our predictions sees a 2-2 stalemate between both sides sitting 13th and 14th respectively.
Burnley 19:45 Wolverhampton Wanderers brings us to Turf Moor with Burnley.
After an impressive 2-2 draw last weekend against Chelsea despite being a man down away at the Stamford Bridge, Burnley will take confidence heading into this tie to begin their climb up from the relegation zone. However, we suspect Gary O’Neil’s side may be too much for them.
In all likelihood, this tie could go in favor of Wolves for a 1-3 win if Wolverhampton can convert their chances.
West Ham United 20:15 Tottenham Hotspur follows to give us a mini-London derby in mid-week. After crumbling to a 4-3 undeserving defeat last weekend to Newcastle United, West Ham will want to bounce back against their North London neighbors.
However, Spurs have a goal they are chasing and any result other than 3 points, will see those hopes fall into ruins before Aston Villa plays its own game the following night. We predict a hard fought 0-2 win for Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.
Predictions for Premier League mid-week games
Wednesday 3rd April brings us fixtures that could once more change the look of the premier league table, even if brief as Arsenal, Manchester City face their respective opponents.
Arsenal 19:30 Luton Town will give the Gunners an opportunity to top the premier league table again as they wrestle another challenge from Kennilworth Road.
With the Hatters given top sides quite the challenge this season, it will be interesting to see how Mikel Arteta hosts their April visitors. For our premier league predictions, we see Arsenal sweating a 2-1 win at the Emirates.
Brentford 19:30 Brighton and Hove Albion could be a cracker no one sees coming as both teams heading into this tie after a disappointing weekend, will want to correct the things they did wrong in their previous games. However, we predict Brentford getting an edge if they carve out a 2-0 victory at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Manchester City 20:15 Aston Villa then ends the Wednesday night with what could be City’s ultimate test at the Etihad again as they face a desperate Unai Emery who cares only about securing a top 4 finish for Aston Villa.
A difficult to predict match as it depends on which Villa side that is going to turn up on the night. But in respect to what we know of Pep Guardiola and Manchester City, this tie could go in a 4-2 win for City at the Etihad or a crushing 1-1 draw for both teams. We back on the former however.
Predictions for Premier League mid-week games
Thursday 4th April will bring us another interesting night of football as Liverpool 19:30 Sheffield United engage hostilities at Anfield.
With the Reds likely to be sitting 2nd or 3rd depending on whatever result comes out of Arsenal or Manchester City fixtures, Jurgen Klopp’s team will have everything to fight for if the intention is to challenge for the premier league title till the final match day of the season.
Despite the narratives, Sheffield United are not to be overlooked or ignored even if it is at Anfield. And it will be Liverpool’s undoing to do that. We predict a 2-0 win for Liverpool on the night if they bring their cards to the table to get over the line against Chris Wilder’s side.
Chelsea 20:15 Manchester United wraps up the night as both teams have a fight on the back. Any result aside a win for either side sets their hopes backward.
In our prediction for this tie, we see Chelsea stealing a win for the first time against the Red Devils in a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge.
