Contrary to people’s opinion, Nigerian lawmaker, Akin Alabi claims joining politics is a sure means of going broke.

Akin Alabi, the House of Representatives member representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency took to the standpoint that getting involved in politics could make one go bankrupt.

Akin Alabi disclosed his via his Twitter handle on Tuesday May 25 as he spoke on the heels of Senatorial and Reps aspirants losing out at their party’s primaries despite claims of monetary incentives.

If you want to go broke, join politics,” he tweeted.

When sports journalist, Oma Akatugba countered him saying; ‘‘It you want to get rich quick, join politics in Nigeria.”

Alabi replied; ”Come and try it and get rich. 😀. You better come and ask why people have been fainting in the last few days.”
