"I was not happy" -- Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool 5-1 win

Liverpool may have coast through to a 5-1 rout of West Ham United at Anfield to qualify for the Carabao Cup semi-final against Fulham, but for the Reds’ manager, Jurgen Klopp, it was not all sunshine despite a dominant Reds performance.

According to the German, the atmosphere was less pleasing as he criticizes the Liverpool fandom that were present at Anfield for inspiring a very somber evening.

Speaking post-match, the former Borussia Dortmund boss said;

“I was not overly happy with the atmosphere behind me. I wondered what they wanted”

This is an obvious criticism for last weekend’s quiet atmosphere against bitter rivals, Manchester United who came to Anfield to frustrate Liverpool’s quest to top the premier league weekend table.

Klopp echoes similar sentiments made by Manchester United legend, Gary Neville who last weekend criticized the Liverpool home turf for being unlively to spur the team to the win.

The Liverpool manager then goes on to plead on the Reds fanbase to provide a more threaten atmosphere ahead of the visit of Arsenal in the coming weekend.

“We need Anfield on their toes without me being in argument with their coach or whatever. If you’re not in the right shape, give your ticket to someone else,” the manager said.

This is an obvious reference to Jurgen Klopp’s on-pitch row with Mikel Arteta each time both teams face off on Merseyside.

The German boss also commented on the 0-0 draw against Manchester United at the Anfield turf; a game that refuses to escape Klopp’s thoughts.

Speaking after the 5-1 win over West Ham United, Klopp said of the Sunday game;

“Things clicked tonight when they didn’t on Sunday. I am not sure I am allowed to talk about what Man Utd did but they defended deeply,”

“It was 34 shots…some keeper saves. Tonight we scored in these moments, sometimes the difference is an inch.”
