Arsene Wenger Weighs In On The World Cup
Arsene Wenger

When it comes to scouting talent and seeing potential, trust the Professor.

The former Arsenal boss has a vision that’s unrivaled in the footballing world when it comes to seeing potential wherever it lies, and speaking his mind on them can no way leave anyone arguing with him.

For the former manager, Arsene Wenger, sees in Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema as one of the three best strikers in the world. And coming off a daunting fixture against Manchester City in the Champions League, to become an instrumental factor in the club qualifying for the final, it stands to reason Benzema proves the statement true,

Wenger made this comment right after the French star led Real Madrid to victory against a high pressing Manchester City that dominated Real in the Champions League semi-final leg ties.

According to him, the France international smells the rhythm of a game in a unique way like nobody else can, pressing the Madrid star’s athleticism.

“It is something interesting that we are seeing across Europe now: the oldest strikers are the most efficient,” Wenger said on beIN SPORTS. “Robert Lewandowski, Benzema, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, they are scoring goals at 35 and at 40. The best strikers in Europe are all over 30 years of age. They use every opponent’s mistake.” The former manager added, pointing the fact that the Madrid star together with the likes of Ibrahimovic and Lewandowski use every opportunity given them by opponents to score crucial goals.

He further highlighted Benzema’s professionalism and the improvement he has made on his game stating, “Benzema, I would say, until 30, had two or three kilos too much. Now he’s a real athlete and that’s why today, certainly, he’s one of the two or three best strikers in the world. I would say he’s a demonstration of intelligence and efficiency. Everything he does is intelligent and looks simple. When I see him play, I think I could do the same. He smells the rhythm of the game like nobody else.”

It obviously speaks much about the Striker’s game play and how fun he makes the game appear to be compared to others in his ilk.
