Guinness World Records yet to confirm Nigerian chef Hilda Baci’s new record for longest cooking marathon

Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, made headlines after breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon on Monday, May 15, in Lagos state.

Hilda Baci cooked for over 87 hours and 45 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 87 hours set by Indian chef, Lata Tondon in 2019.

However, despite the accomplishment, the Guinness World Records has yet to officially confirm Baci’s new record.

In a statement, the organization explained that it would review all the evidence before making a confirmation.

This delay has caused some confusion and speculation on social media, with Twitter user AlexanderDGreat questioning why the Guinness World Records has remained silent on Baci’s achievement.

“Why is Guinness World Record not showing or talking about Hilda‘s cook-a-ton? Can’t see anything on their pages (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube),” he tweeted.

In response, GWR said; “We are aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record”.
