Give Jurgen Klopp a break -- Luis Garcia blasts media

Liverpool legend and former winger for the Reds and Barcelona, Luis Garcia has come online to hit at the critics of Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp.

A rough couple of hours it has turned out to be for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp in the transfer saga, especially following the trending tales about Moises Caicedo’s transfer to Merseyside.

The former Dortmund boss has been on fire from critics over his past quotes regarding a Paul Pogba transfer from Juventus to Manchester United, where he was quoted as giving a negative criticism on the move.

“If you bring one player in for ã100m or whatever and he gets injured then it all goes through the chimney. The day that this is football, I’m not in a job anymore, because the game is about playing together.

“That is why somebody invented passes so these players can play together. It’s not about running with the ball because you can do it all the time.”

The Liverpool manager was quoted as saying following the confirmation of Paul Pogba’s transfer to Old Trafford.

However, as atypical as the internet can be, the multiple title winning coach was brought to the light years later on his quote in his pre-match press conference and also criticized on social media after Liverpool agreed a British record transfer fee with Brighton for Moises Caicedo.

Though, Jurgen Klopp quickly apologized for his statement back then, former Liverpool player, Luis Garcia who was part of the 2005 Champions League winning team has fired at the German’s critics.

According to Garcia, he faults people for comparing the modern times with 7 years ago, failing to put into consideration the many challenges that have plagued the football world and history since then.

He said via Twitter;

“People now throwing quotes that J. Klopp said years back like everyone knew that, we’d have a Pandemic, and a War and a country with unlimited resources will start buying players like peanuts… Let’s give him a break would’ya !!”
