Why Funke Akindele’s Name Was Replaced With Genevieve Nnaji’s In The Avengers: Infinity Wars Cast

I am sure a lot of you are wondering why the Avengers:Infinity War casting director is playing emotional games with you when it comes to who plays the role of Dora Milaje. First it was Funke Akindele , and y’all were like,

‘Yasss, Bish! we going international.’

But then Funke’s name was removed from the list and I was ready to boycott Marvel…well, perhaps, I wouldn’t have gone that far, but I was vexed.

There are a few theories circulating on the internet that may have resulted in this:

1. That she really was cast in the movie, but was let go.
2. That her scene in the movie was removed, didn’t make the final cut.
3. That a random person accessed the IMDb page of the movie and added the Nigerian actress, just to excite Nigerians.

Theory 3 is looking the likeliest for a few reasons: IMDb pages, like wikipedia, can be accessed and edited by anyone with an account.

And then Genevieve Nnaji’s name pops on the list replacing Funke Akindele,

*Shrug* At least the role still went to Nigerian.
