Father of Fuji music icon, K1 D’ Ultimate is dead

The Mayegun of Yorubaland, King Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan Marshall, also known as K1 the Ultimate has lost his father, late Mefu of Igan, Otunba Samson Aremu Rufai to the cold hands of death.

As a well-recognized community leader in Ago-Iwoye, the adopted father of the musician Otunba S. A. Rufai (JP), passed away at the old age of 84 years.

According to reports, Otunba Rufai died in the early hours of Wednesday, 26th January 2022, after briefly battling an undisclosed illness

Otunba Rufai was the Mefu of Igan Quarter, one of the eight Quarters in Ago-Iwoye and reigned for 43 years.

It should be known that many gigantic developments were achieved during which late Otunba Samson assumed the position of Mefu of Igan Quarter in 1979.


The late Mefu of Igan Quarter was survived by many children, including Otunba Sesan Rufai, the Chief Executive Officer of Goldmyne TV and Limelite Hotels
