Elon Musk considers dogecoin integration for Tesla car purchases

Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, suggested at the potential of taking Dogecoin (DOGE) as payment for Tesla vehicles at a meeting at the company’s Berlin Gigafactory.

This disclosure has spurred concern among cryptocurrency fans regarding Dogecoin’s potential incorporation into Tesla’s payment options.

Musk’s comments were in response to a question from an audience member on the possibility of Dogecoin payments at Tesla. While Tesla has accepted cryptocurrency payments, including Dogecoin, for its products since January 15, 2022, its official inclusion as a payment option for Tesla vehicles has yet to be announced.

Rumours gathered traction after fans discovered references to Dogecoin in the code of Tesla’s Cybertruck checkout page. However, neither Musk nor Tesla have issued an official announcement about the acceptance of Dogecoin for vehicle orders.

Musk’s previous comments about Dogecoin have had a big impact on the cryptocurrency’s price and performance. Following Musk’s new words, Dogecoin’s value increased by more than 10% in just 15 minutes.

Supporters of the cryptocurrency community are eagerly awaiting additional developments. Dogecoin’s current price is $0.18580885, representing an 8.47% change in the previous 24 hours.

While the integration of Dogecoin into Tesla’s payment ecosystem is unknown, supporters hope that Musk will use his power to make it happen. This invention could be a huge step forward in the use of cryptocurrencies for mainstream transactions, particularly in the automotive industry.
