A fire outbreak has been reported at the bustling Dosunmu market located on Lagos Island, Lagos State.

Ibrahim Farinloye, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Zonal Coordinator for South-West, confirmed the incident on Tuesday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses captured alarming photographs and videos depicting flames consuming multiple high-rise buildings within the market area.

Farinloye stated that fire service personnel and other relevant authorities have been promptly dispatched to contain the inferno.

At present, the full extent of the damage remains unclear.

This incident comes in the wake of a recent fire outbreak that destroyed four buildings in the same market just three weeks ago.

Additionally, on Monday, a three-storey building in Balogun Market, Lagos State, was also engulfed in flames, as disclosed by Margaret Adeseye, Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.

According to Adeseye, the fire at the Breadfruit Street building originated from the second floor.
