Zonal NDLEA Commander, Femi, arrested in connection with death of married woman
A shocking incident led to the arrest of the Zonal Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Minna, Niger State, known as Femi.
The Daily Trust has reported that NDLEA Zonal Commander, Femi has been taken into custody by the State Police Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) over alleged culpable homicide.
The arrest of Femi came after a married woman, Christiana Williams, was found dead at his residence on Bay clinic road, Minna opposite old B.Y stores on Saturday afternoon.
It is believed that the woman, who suffered from asthma, had gone to Femi’s house on the pretense of selling underwear.
However, the two allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse and the woman subsequently developed a crisis and slumped.
Femi reportedly took the woman to Bay Clinic for medical attention but she was declared dead on arrival by doctors.
The hospital then alerted the police at Tudun-Wada Police Station, following suspicions of foul play, as Femi had claimed that the woman had gone into an asthmatic crisis while he had gone to get an inhaler for her.
The deceased woman’s husband, Williams, has denied Femi’s account, stating that his wife did not use an inhaler but had some prescription drugs she used during her asthma crises.
Consequently, Femi was arrested by the Tundun-Wada police command and later transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
A reliable source around the hospital further told our Correspondent that, “the suspect brought the dead woman naked but went back home and returned with her pants, brassiere, and other clothing materials and wore them on her”.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PRO, DSP Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the incident.
He said the matter is currently under investigation.
