Why it is even more painful -- Virgil van Dijk

Liverpool skipper, Virgil van Dijk is not ready to lose Jurgen Klopp just yet no matter how fast the days come.

Following his recent announcement, the Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has very few games left as the Reds boss with their elimination from the FA Cup at the hands of Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United only helping to hasten his exit up.

Though the quadruple may not be up for grabs any more, the Reds are still active in two competitions depending how their upcoming games go.

Looking up to the upcoming games while on international break, Captain Virgil van Dijk opens up on why the former Borussia Dortmund boss bidding the club farewell will hurt more than they could imagine.

According to him, it would be very difficult and “emotional” for him.

Expressing his sentiments, van Dijk admitted to finding goodbyes challenging and anticipates a particularly emotional farewell this time around.

“I am quite emotional and I always find it very difficult to say goodbye to people, which will certainly be the case now,” the Dutchman was quoted saying.

He highlighted Linders’ significance within the team and underscored the difficulty of bidding adieu to valued individuals.

“It is not only the manager who is leaving the club. It is more people. Pepijn is a really important figure in the dressing room and I could go on and on. I am not looking forward to saying goodbye at all, but we still have the chance to win more trophies together,”

Despite the impending changes, Virgil van Dijk remains focused on the team’s objectives and aims to continue pursuing success on the field.
