"What I have on my phone is amazing" -- Finidi George

Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George, has expressed confidence in his team’s preparation for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against South Africa. The match is set to take place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Friday, June 7.

The 53-year-old coach revealed that his video analyst, Mehmet Ozturk, has provided comprehensive insights into the strengths and weaknesses of the South African team. Speaking at a media parley in Lagos, Finidi George praised the detailed analysis provided by Ozturk.

“It’s a well calculated pick; we also have the fitness coach which is needed in modern day football and a match analyst. What that guy has done so far is amazing,” Finidi stated.

“What he has sent to me, analyzing player by player, not the Super Eagles players but the opponents.”

Finidi George goes on to emphasize the importance of this analysis in preparing for the match against South Africa.

“We play South Africa first. What I have on my phone is amazing. It is not that I’m not watching but when someone will break it down, the strengths and weaknesses, it’s a fantastic job.”

Following the game against South Africa, the Super Eagles will travel to Abidjan to face the Squirrels of Benin Republic at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny on June 10. Finidi’s thorough preparation and the insights provided by his team aim to secure successful outcomes in these crucial World Cup qualifiers.
