Jurgen Klopp assures Liverpool fans of the need to strengthen the midfield following the exit of 5 players this summer.

Liverpool have a midfield problem, one that existed for some seasons now, and despite the club bringing in two new stars to man the Reds’ midfield this summer, the Anfield side still faces similar issues with the exits of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho Tavares alongside 3 others.

It is a serious problem Jurgen Klopp recognizes ahead of the upcoming season as the club’s rivals keep strengthening its options this summer.

Ahead of the club’s pre-season tour in Singapore, the former Borussia Dortmund boss addressed fans’ concern over the exits of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

According to Jurgen Klopp, he recognizes the importance to strengthen Liverpool’s midfield.

The German was quoted saying:

“It’s definitely important to strengthen in midfield. We have to do something, that is clear,”

“We are working on solutions. First people want changes, now everyone is worrying about the changes. We are really optimistic about it. Excited as well.”

At the moment, Roméo Lavia is the main target for Liverpool, who are hoping to beat Chelsea to the Southampton man’s signature after Arsenal slowed down talks with Southampton for the Belgian.
