Threads introduces new feature for user feedback

Published

on

Threads, Meta’s social media platform, has begun testing a new feature known as Algo Tune.

This feature enables users to provide feedback on the content in their feed by using swipe gestures.

Users can swipe left to indicate disinterest in a post and right to express interest, much like on dating apps like Tinder. The algorithm adjusts over time in response to these interactions, intending to personalise the user’s feed.

Algo Tune is currently being tested with a select group of Threads users. However, because the feature is still in its experimental phase, specific details on how these swipes affect the algorithm are not disclosed.

Threads has been actively introducing new features to improve user experiences, such as the recent implementation of trending topics and the exploration of integration with other social media platforms such as Mastodon. Users can now save drafts and take photos directly from the app.
