The Rejection of Ronaldo: Why PSG don’t want him

There was a time when the Portuguese star man was highly sought for by clubs and even wished for but at the twilight of his career, the reverse is the case for Cristiano Ronaldo, with the player facing multiple rejection.

The Bayern Munich CEO and even the members of the club’s hierarchy came out to speak against signing the forward, even the reported move to Chelsea was vehemently denied by manager, Thomas Tuchel.

For French club, Paris Saint Germain (PSG), it’s quite a complicated issue as it is revealed that what held the Ligue 1 club from making the duo of Ronaldo and Messi in the same team, a reality was due to the arrival of another player.

The player is revealed to be Hugo Ekitike who according to Sky Sports News reporter, Dhamesh Sheth is said to be a key player in new manager, Christopher Gaultier’s system.

“I don’t think that would be a goer at the moment. PSG are trying to do their business in a different way now and they have just signed Hugo Ekitike, as well.” He said.

“On the Transfer Talk podcast, we spoke to European football expert Tom Williams and he was saying that Christophe Galtier, the new PSG manager, wants to play a 3-5-2, with Kylian Mbappe up front with someone else. When you look at it like that, is that man Ronaldo?

“We thought Ekitike was going there just as a squad player, but if Gaultier wants to play with two up front with a partner for Mbappe, Ekitike could get his chance immediately.

“I think a lot of people would want to see those to play together, however late in their careers and maybe a year or two ago Ronaldo might have gone to PSG when they were doing their business slightly differently,” Sheth said.

With the 5 time golden ball winner eyeing and forcing a move out of Old Trafford, Cristiano Ronaldo is looking to continue his legacy as Mr. Champions League.

But with how the reports are going, the 37 year old may not have an option as the top clubs who are sure competitors in these tournaments are running away from the player, with Ronaldo facing rejection at each turn.

Last week, Chelsea and Bayern Munich came out publicly again to declare they won’t chase the Portuguese.
