The Nation newspaper’s reporter shot along with 2 kids by Police Officers

Reports reaching in the moment, reveal that police officers from the Osun State Police command have gunned down a reporter, identified as Mr. Toba Adedeji who works for The Nation newspapers, and 2 kindergarten kids earlier today on Tuesday.

The incident was said to have happened at the early hours of Afternoon, precisely around 12 pm at Olaiya junction in Osogbo during the course of a protest organized by aggrieved youths.

Reports state that Mr. Adedeji had gone to cover the protest with some other journalists in the state as the youths protested against the death of one of its comrades, Abiola Afolabi who was also killed by the police.

The police officers were said to have shot a live round of bullet in the journalist’s right leg during the chaos.

According to reports, the protest had gone peacefully, with the students believed to be in melancholic moods before they were attacked by the armed police officers.

It is believed Mr. Adedeji was moved to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital Complex, Osogbo while the one of the two pupils who had been shot while returning to their various homes was taken to the State’s general hospital with the other’s whereabouts is unknown in the moment.
