Thank You Jordan Henderson — Liverpool confirms exit
Liverpool has officially confirmed the exit of skipper Jordan Henderson after 12 seasons at the club as his move to Al Ettifaq for a fee reportedly in the region of £12m plus add ons was agreed upon.
In a social media post, the Merseyside club wrote;
‘We can confirm Jordan Henderson has completed a transfer to Al-Ettifaq.
“As his Anfield chapter now comes to a close, everyone at the club wishes to place on record their thanks and gratitude for everything Jordan did for us during his 12 years as a Red.”
Tribute to the former Sunderland star was also passed down by the club manager, Jurgen Klopp who thanked the player for his contributions to the team and even regards Jordan Henderson as one of the pillars to his team.
“You are a legend. I know people say recently we use that word slightly too often, I can tell you, that it’s not in your case.“ Jurgen Klopp said in a video shared on the club’s official social media pages.
Prior to the announcement, Jordan Henderson had shared on his Instagram page a goodbye message to the Liverpool fans and his teammates.
“It’s hard to put these last 12 years into words, it’s even harder to say goodbye. I will always be a Red. Until the day I die,”
“Thank you. You’ll never walk alone.” Jordan Henderson said in the video.
Jordan Henderson will reunite with former teammate and captain, Steven Gerrard who now manages Al Ettifaq.
