Teams Already Qualified For The Champions League Quarter Final

Six teams have secured their places in the quarter-finals of the Champions League following Tuesday’s fixtures. Manchester City and Inter Milan are the latest teams to join Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Chelsea, and Benfica in the next round.

In a dominant display at the Etihad, Pep Guardiola’s men hammered RB Leipzig 7-0, with Norwegian wonderkid Erling Haaland scoring five goals to help his team progress with an 8-1 aggregate. City took the lead in the 16th minute through an own goal from Nordi Mukiele, before Haaland took over the game, scoring his first goal in the 28th minute, followed by a second just six minutes later.

Haaland then completed his hat-trick in the 38th minute, before scoring his fourth and fifth goals in the second half, helping City to a resounding victory over their German opponents.

Meanwhile, in Portugal, Inter Milan held FC Porto to a tense 0-0 draw to secure their place in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 aggregate, thanks to Romelu Lukaku’s goal in the first leg.

Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, the Italian giants were unable to find the back of the net, with Porto goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin producing a string of impressive saves to keep his team in the tie.

Inter Milan will be relieved to have secured their place in the next round after a nervy encounter against a spirited Porto side.

With six teams now confirmed for the quarter-finals, the remaining two spots will be decided on Wednesday as Napoli takes on Eintracht Frankfurt and Liverpool face Real Madrid in the second leg of their tie, with both matches finely poised after the first legs.
