Teams Already Qualified For The Champions League Quarter Final
Wednesday’s fixtures saw the qualification of at least four teams for the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Chelsea and Benfica are the first four teams to secure their spots.
Bayern Munich secured their place in the quarter-finals with a 3-0 aggregate victory over Paris Saint-Germain. The German champions had won the first leg 1-0 at the Parc des Princes. Bayern put the game beyond the French side with second-half goals from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Leroy Sane in Germany, confirming their progress.
Meanwhile, the second leg between Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan ended goalless in North London. However, the Serie A side qualified for the quarter-finals with a 1-0 aggregate win over the Premier League club.
The four teams become an elite group of clubs that have already secured their places in the quarter-finals with more to be added in next week’s edition of the Champions League round of 16.
The draw for the quarter-finals will take place on Friday, 17 March at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland. The first leg of the quarter-finals is scheduled to be played on April 11 and 12, with the return legs set for April 18 and 19.
