Social media critic “Verydarkman” released from police custody
Controversial social media figure, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, has been freed from police detention in Abuja.
The news was confirmed by human rights activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju on Sunday.
Otse’s release comes after several days of public outcry over his arrest on allegations of cyberbullying, as stated by former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore criticized the arrest, arguing that it was based on misuse of the Cybercrime Act.
Adeyanju announced Otse’s release in a tweet, thanking everyone involved in securing his freedom.
Further details on the circumstances of his release are expected to emerge in the coming hours.
