Sancho's exit leaves Manchester United fans angry for one reason

Jadon Sancho’s return to Borussia Dortmund on loan for the remainder of the season has left Manchester United fans disenchanted, as the winger makes a fresh start following a public fallout with United manager Erik ten Hag.

Sancho, 23, has been out of action since a cameo appearance in a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest in August. Eager to revive his career, the England international opted for a reunion with Dortmund, the club he represented from 2017 to 2021 before his £72 million transfer to Old Trafford.

The winger played a crucial role in Dortmund’s success, winning the DFB-Pokal during his initial stint, and now aims to help them secure a spot in the Champions League. Edin Terzic’s side currently sits fifth in the Bundesliga, six points adrift of RB Leipzig.

Expressing his excitement about the return, Sancho stated,

“When I walked into the dressing room today, it felt like a homecoming. I know the club inside out. I can’t wait to see my teammates again, to get out on the pitch, play with a smile on my face, set up goals, score goals, and help BVB qualify for the Champions League.”

However, controversy surrounds Sancho’s reintegration into the Dortmund fold. Despite still being a United player, he visibly kissed the Dortmund badge while looking directly into the camera, a move that has not gone unnoticed by the disappointed United fanbase.

Sancho is set to join Dortmund’s mid-season training camp in Marbella and could potentially make his second debut for the club in the upcoming game against Darmstadt on Saturday evening. During his loan spell, Dortmund will cover the majority of Sancho’s wages.
