Sadio Man was racially abused at Bayern -- PR manager reveals

In football, the most controversial stories are either allegations of sexual misconduct or racism, and for former Liverpool man, Sadio Mane, the Senegalese falls victim to the latter as per an interview granted by his PR manager, Bacary Cissé.

This is in response to the dressing room bust up between the Senegal international and Leroy Sane in a row that was provoked following Bayern Munich’s exit from the Champions League last season at the hands of Manchester City.

In a detailed interview with RMC Sport’s programme, ‘AfterRMC, Bacary Cissé goes in deep to call Leroy Sane out for his condescending behavior towards Sadio Mane that had provoked the former Southampton star to retaliate.

“Everyone with a knowledge of European football knows that Leroy Sané is a very condescending guy, while Sadio is very calm and has shown that everywhere he played. Sané has exceeded the limits,” Bacary Cissé said.

The interview also went on to clarify a certain report that had circulated in the media regarding Sadio Mane being fined €500,000.

Cissé strongly refuted the claims, dismissing it as a baseless rumor. He attributed these false reports to biased coverage in the German press, which he claimed had favored Sané over Mané.

“Many wrong things were said about what happened. Many ‘dirty’ things came out from the German press. They sided with Sané against Sadio. They said Sadio was fined €500k, which is a lie,”

Central to the discussion was the incident itself and its aftermath.

Cissé revealed that Leroy Sané had extended an apology to Sadio Mané after the incident, acknowledging his own mistake. This apology came after Sané reportedly reached out to other players to facilitate communication between him and Mané.

“Leroy Sané apologized to Sadio after the incident. Why? Because he knew it was him who fuc*ed up. He (Sané) called some players and told them: ‘I sent a text to Sadio, tell him to respond’ – Sadio responded and accepted his apology, but told him that shouldn’t happen again,”

Bacary Cissé went on to accuse Leroy Sane of raining racial abuse on Sadio Mane during the incident, however the PR manager declined to go into further details about the incident.

“Sadio racially insulted by Sané? Yes, indeed. I can’t enter into certain details. That’s why I said there was ingratitude from Bayern’s part. It’s crazy!”

“If Sadio Mané’s skin colour bothered Leroy Sané, it also bothered the people in charge at Bayern, because they didn’t understand why they would have to pay this kind of money to this guy,”

According to Bacary Cissé, Sadio Mane’s skin color bothered so much Leroy Sane that he could see how much it bothered those in charge at Bayern.

Sadio Mane currently plies his trade in Saudi Arabia, as teammates with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.
