Rudiger wants Real Madrid player out of the team

Ex-Chelsea player and new Real Madrid signing, Antonio Rudiger hasn’t settled at the club yet but has identified what he feels could become a problem to the team moving forward.

According to reports, the German has quickly identified that ego could ultimately become the team’s undoing and has immediately demanded a player be sold in this window.

The player Rudiger wants out of the team is left-back, Miguel Gutierrez.

The reason is partly because the former Chelsea player wants to avoid a ‘war of egos’ with fellow teammate, David Alaba going forward.

From the reports quoted by Spanish media, El Nacional, Rudiger has informed the Madrid president, Florentino Perez to sell Gutierrez to decrease any competition that may come between him and Alaba.

This is seen as a move to curtail any dressing room issue that may rise eventually in the future.

The problem though is that Real Madrid wants Gutierrez who is 20, to stay at the club and continue his development.

Rudiger recently joined Real Madrid from Chelsea on a free transfer earlier this month, after months of speculation at various intervals of last season.

The Germany international, helped Chelsea to the UEFA Champions League in 2021 prior to Real Madrid winning their 14th Champions League title.

The ex-Chelsea player primarily plays as a left sided centre-back, and is set to wear the number 22 shirt at Madrid.

With the likes of Nacho Fernandez and Eder Militao deputizing at right centre-back, Rudiger will hope to form a robust defensive partnership at Real Madrid.

Alaba though is set to make a return to his favored position of a left-back that he plays for Austria and at Bayern Munich.

With the potential shift in Alaba’s position, Ferland Mendy is expected to go down the pecking order with the academy graduate, Gutierrez’s future hanging in the balance.

Antonio Rudiger showing genuine concerns over David Alaba is him missing the point that Alaba is quite the utility player who can also fit into midfield should the need arise.
