President Tinubu to present N27.5 Trillion 2024 Budget to Senate

President Bola Tinubu has formally notified the Senate of his intention to present the 2024 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly, scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, November 29, at 11 am.

The announcement of President Tinubu’s plan was conveyed through an executive communication delivered to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during the plenary session on Tuesday, November 28.

The proposed 2024 Appropriation Bill, totaling N27.5 trillion, received approval during Monday’s Federal Executive Council meeting. Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, explained that adjustments to the budget were made from an initial N26 trillion due to shifts in foreign exchange rates.

In accordance with constitutional requirements, President Tinubu is set to fulfill the obligation of presenting the 2024 budget before the esteemed chambers of the National Assembly.

The anticipation builds as the proposed budget is set to be unveiled, reflecting the administration’s fiscal priorities and allocations for the forthcoming financial year.
