President Buhari Claims Nigerians Are Harder to Lead Than Cattle and Sheep
In a surprising statement made on Sunday during the Presidential Inauguration Gala Night, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his thoughts on the challenges of leading Nigerians compared to his experience with cattle and sheep.
As his eight-year tenure came to a close on May 29, the President humorously remarked that Nigerians are more difficult to lead than his livestock.
During his speech at the State House Conference Centre in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, President Buhari emphasized his eagerness to return to his hometown of Daura, Katsina, and attend to his cattle and sheep on his farm. He jokingly mentioned his plans to downsize his livestock due to financial constraints after leaving office, as he anticipated a decrease in funds available for purchasing feed.
He said: “I am looking forward to tomorrow to fly to my base to go and meet my cattle and sheep, which are much easier to control than fellow Nigerians. But I have to reduce their number, because I cannot save enough to buy them feeds.”
In a separate development, President Buhari dissolved the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Sunday night, according to reports from Arise TV.
The dissolution of the cabinet was announced through a memo issued last night.
The FEC comprises the President, Vice President, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief of Staff, Head of Service, and Ministers.
Today, May 29th, President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be inaugurated as Nigeria’s next leader, succeeding President Buhari.
The transition of power marks a significant moment in the country’s political landscape.
