President Bola Tinubu congratulates Claudia Sheinbaum

President Bola Tinubu extended his heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Claudia Sheinbaum following her historic election as the first female President of Mexico.

In a statement released by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Tinubu also praised the Mexican people and advocated for stronger bilateral relations between Nigeria and Mexico in areas of mutual interest.

“The election of Sheinbaum accents women’s voices in government and shatters the political glass ceiling,” Tinubu remarked. “It sends a reverberating message across the world that women must not only be participants but principal architects in shaping and implementing decisions affecting the lives of many.”

Sheinbaum’s victory, achieved by a landslide, marks a significant milestone in Mexican history, as she becomes the first woman to hold the office since the country’s independence in 1821.

President Tinubu emphasized the importance of this achievement in promoting gender equality and empowering women globally.
