Premier League preview and predictions for the Weekend

In back to back match weeks, the premier league delivered to fans and neutrals a 4-3 cracker and some excitement to dazzle its viewership. In match week 29, it was the Newcastle United versus West Ham lunch time kickoff cracker. For match week 30, it was the inevitable match up between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Both games delivered and both sets of fans had a lot to talk about post-match, which adds further excitement to what’s to come in week 31 as the weekend games close in.

With roughly 8-games left for all 20 teams to conclude the premier league season, it is all or nothing for some teams at the moment, which raises all stakes and adrenaline levels heading into respective kickoff times.

This weekend games begin with Saturday 6th April’s clash between Crystal Palace 12:30 Manchester City.

Though there is very little in it to suggest it will be any cracker of a game, but in recent title races, there has been an underlining narrative of Crystal Palace standing as a boogey side for teams called Manchester City or Liverpool.

In Man City’s case, both teams have history as Palace have each season found ways to take points off Pep Guardiola’s side. As far as this season is concerned, the Eagles have taken a point away from Manchester City at the Etihad after a 2-2 draw was played between both sides earlier in the season.

It will be difficult to predict the outcome of this clash but a safe prediction will suggest at least a Manchester City win with a 1-3 score line. But we won’t rule out Crystal Palace giving the premier league yet another cracker for a lunch time kickoff though.

After suffering a sad defeat to Manchester City in mid-week, Aston Villa 15:00 Brentford sets Unai Emery up with yet another chance to cement their hold on the top 4. We see no reason to suggest the Spaniard will make same mistakes he made against Pep Guardiola when facing Thomas Frank. We predict a hard fought 1-0 victory for Villa at Villa Park.
Everton 15:00 Burnley brings together two sides who have gone a number of games without a win for a ride at Goodison Park. One side is a team that threatens to impress but fails at the death, and the other is a side with all the attacking glory but fails to convert in front of goal.
Will the Toffees ultimately get their win this weekend?
If there stands a game to get that win, then it has to be in a Sean Dyche derby, with the Everton boss’ former side returning to face him while sitting at the penultimate spot in the league table. We predict a 2-0 win for Everton.

Fulham 15:00 Newcastle United could promise us yet another premier league cracker at Cravens Cottage, but this time involving Newcastle taking on Fulham at the capital. Will Marco Silva learn from David Moyes’ failures and avoid similar fate as West Ham?
That remains to be seen. However, we have to believe Fulham has a surprise for the Magpies if our prediction of a 3-1 win surfaces.
Luton Town 15:00 Bournemouth is the perfect time for the Hatters to show that which they have teased for many weeks now; a result. With 3-points adrift the safe zone, Luton Town can engineer a great escape if they can manage to start getting their wins from here on out. A hard call but a possible win.
We will predict a 2-1 win for Luton over the Cherries.
Wolverhampton Wanderers 15:00 West Ham United, stands probably the tougher fixture to predict at the moment. But if last weekend’s display against Newcastle is anything to go with, it is that David Moyes will want to do things right at the Molineux. However, Wolves themselves are a formidable opponent. We predict a 2-2 stalemate.
Brighton and Hove Albion 17:30 Arsenal, can Roberto De Zerbi make a statement in the title race this weekend?
The English Premier League's Breakaway Gambit
Brighton are desperate for a result at the moment to edge them closer to the top 6, and a huge victory against Arsenal will take them closer to those ambitions. But can they achieve such feats? Possible but until the game, improbable. We predict an Arsenal win with a 0-3 triumph to take them top of the table for that day.
Sunday 7th April brings fans the English Classic that is Manchester United 15:30 Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Premier League Roundup: Liverpool back atop table, Man United stunned by Chelsea
After crashing out to Chelsea in mid-week to a 4-3 defeat despite being ahead in the 96th minute, Manchester United will be desperate for a statement, and what better way than to do that against their arch rivals Liverpool?
A result against their Merseyside visitors not only gives the Red Devils a redemption, but also soils Liverpool’s premier league ambitions. However, Jurgen Klopp will feel they have learnt something from their FA Cup quarter final exit at the same ground. It is a hard one to predict, but this premier league clash could be the talk of the season or the weekend.
We will have to give Liverpool a risky 0-2 win at the infamous Theatre of Dreams as they dream their way to the premier league title.
Sheffield United 17:30 Chelsea gives the Blues an opportunity to get consistent to push for another 3-points after dispatching Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in mid-week. We will comfortably give Chelsea the win in this fixture. A 0-3 win is not too farfetched for the sleeping giant.
Tottenham Hotspur 18:00 Nottingham Forest could be a huge test for Spurs and Ange Postecoglou who are effortlessly chasing a top 4 finish. We have to predict this premier league clash in favor of form bias however and give Tottenham Hotspur a 4-2 win against Forest.
