Mason Mount gets attacked from most unlikely Chelsea source

On his return to his boyhood club, Mason Mount faced more of a treacherous welcome than a hero’s welcome in the 4-3 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea managed to pull off a remarkable comeback against Manchester United, overcoming a 3-2 deficit to emerge victorious with a 4-3 win in a thrilling Premier League clash.

Cole Palmer emerged as the hero for Chelsea, netting not one but two goals in stoppage time to seal the improbable victory. His equalizer from the penalty spot was followed by a dramatic winner in the 101st minute, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

The match also saw the introduction of Mason Mount, who had recently scored his first goal for Chelsea in their draw against Brentford. However, upon his entry into the game in the 86th minute, Mount was greeted with a chorus of boos from some sections of the crowd.

Tensions escalated further when Enzo Fernandez clashed with the former Chelsea star during the match. But it was a post-match social media interaction that garnered attention, as Alfie Gilchrist, who came on as a substitute in the 75th minute, appeared to aim a subtle dig at Mount on Instagram.

Gilchrist uploaded an image of himself alongside Mount, accompanied by the caption: “We fight till the end.”

Chelsea’s triumph over Manchester United propelled them back into the top half of the table, currently occupying the 10th position with 43 points.

Reflecting on the dramatic win, Cole Palmer credited manager Mauricio Pochettino for instilling the belief that fueled Chelsea’s comeback.

In an interview with TNT Sports, Palmer described the game as “crazy” and emphasized the team’s relentless spirit. He highlighted Pochettino’s encouragement during the dying moments of the match, indicating the manager’s role in driving the team forward.

Palmer expressed his elation at scoring a hat-trick, his first for Chelsea, and acknowledged the significance of the victory in boosting the team’s momentum.
