Popular Catholic Priest Slams Gospel Singer Over ‘Born Blind’ Confession

A Catholic Priest, identified as Rev Fr Dr Angelo Chidi Unegbu has challenged gospel singer, Chidinma Ekile to share proof of being born blind and how her sight was restored.

He had stated on his facebook page that he was interested in the singer’s case after stumbling on a video of her opening up on how she got healed from blindness.

According to the Priest, he put up a challenge last year searching for any visually impaired person who had received his or her sight after a man or woman of God showed up, but no one came forward.

Though he knows that Chidinma didn’t get her healing from a clergyman, he wants to know how her mother, who she claimed was the one who helped restore her sight, did it.

Father Angelo added that for him to convince the doubting Thomas, he would need permission to interview her mother, the hospital where she was born, the name and address of the hospital, and the doctor or doctors that confirmed she was blind from birth and the cause of the blindness.

Dear Ms. Chidinma Ekile, I saw your video where you told the world that you were born blind but later received your sight when your mother went on her knees to God in prayer. To convince the doubting Thomases, I will please request that you give us permission to interview your mother, the hospital where you were born, the name and address of the hospital, and the doctor or doctors that confirmed you were blind after birth and the cause of the blindness. We would also like to know whether you went back to the hospital or went to a doctor or doctors who confirmed you were blind after receiving your sight. If yes, may we know them as well? I am interested in your case because last year we put up the challenge of searching for any visually impaired person who has ever received his or her sight after a man or woman of God prayed or laid hands on him or her, but no one showed up. Although in your own case, it was your mother who prayed, the investigations will still help in clearing the air to a reasonable extent on claims of miraculously restoring the sight of the blind being made by some of our mën and women of God in Nigeria.
