The Nigeria Police, Osun State Command has arrested 23-year-old twins, Taiwo and Kehinde Adeleke, who are notorious cultists on the police wanted list for the killing of one Abiodun Apalara in Esa-Oke.

Abiodun Apalara was allegedly killed during a rival cult clash in which the suspected twins were involved.

The Osun Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, revealed this on Wednesday during a parade of the arrested suspects, including seven others who were arrested in different parts of the state in Osogbo.

The offences of the suspects included cultism, murder and robbery.

Opalola narrated that the twins and their gang members, Ojo Ayobami, Ibrahim Qudus, and Ojo Oretu, were arrested in Esa Oke following the killing of Abiodun Apalara during the rival cult clash.

“Around 2pm on April 27, 2023, there was a fracas among some hoodlums suspected to be cultists in Esa-Oke which led to the death of Apalara.

“A police team from the Special Anti-Cultism Unit swung into action and subsequently, the leader of the gang, Qudus, and four other suspects were arrested.”

She further disclosed that upon discreet investigation, the police gathered that the late Abiodun Apalara was a member of Alora Confraternity, also known as Buccaneer Confraternity.

“He was killed by some armed hoodlums suspected to be members of Black Axe Confraternity also known as Aiye Confraternity led by Qudus. They will be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.”
