"Why we are against 'No gree for anybody slogan'" - Nigeria Police explains

Despite the viral 2024 slang, the Nigerian police force has explained why it is against the use of the slang “no gree for anybody”

As the origin of the slang cannot be traced, many youths have tagged it a source of motivation for what it worth for them to “make it” this new year.

Speaking as regards the viral slogan, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police Force spokesperson, during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, warned against the use of the slogan, as it acts as violence against police officers.

Many of the youths didn’t find this comment acceptable, as they continued in the act, saying they could not be stopped.

Explaining himself further, the spokesperson took to his X handle on Thursday, saying; “The Police are in the best position to advise and educate Nigerians on possible early warning signs of an impending danger as a civil and people-oriented institution”.

According to him, the slogan should not be used to attack security operatives while discharging their duties.

“Do not take the 2024 slogan for granted. Do not abuse the slogan and capitalise on it to be attacking security operatives while discharging their duties.

“Be reasonable with the slogan, sue for, and embrace peace anywhere you find yourself, even at home. It is well with our dear country”, he said.
