Ondo Nurse calls tearfully, plea to government over unpaid salary (Video)
In a heartbreaking display of desperation, a nurse in Ondo state has made a tearful plea to the government to pay the outstanding 8 months’ salary owed to healthcare workers.
The nurse turned to social media to criticize the Ondo state administration for failing to pay intern nurses in the state for eight months.
In a video shared on social media, the nurse begged the state government to give them their hard-earned money since they worked for it.
She said that she is now broke and does not know how to ask people for money, therefore her choice to openly criticize the government.
According to her, anytime they refused to work in order to oppose the government, hospital administration threatened to cancel their contract.
She is weary of the situation and wants the government to pay her accumulated income.
In her words:
“Please pay our money. You people will come out and say voice out. Please I am broke now. I am begging you on my own right, pay all the 46 intern nurses you are owing, we are tired.
“We are tired, we don’t know what else to do, you people actually know that we worked. You’ve seen every evidence. So What else do you want?
“For me to come outside and say this, you guys should see my face please I’m not going to call names. But please if you know you have conscience, pay us our money because I cannot ask guys for money, don’t push us to the wall.
“Please pay our money, 8 months salary. How will you be owing a nurse for 8 months? For those of you who will come to blame us asking why we didn’t stop working, it’s not easy they threatened to terminate our contracts, and if we go to a different place we will have to start all over again to make it a year.”
