Uchechi Kanu visits Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody - Latest updates

Uchechi Kanu, the wife of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), made a significant visit to her husband, who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Her visit, facilitated by Anambra South Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, marked a notable development in Kanu’s detention, which began in 2021 after his extradition from Kenya.

Previously denied access to her husband, Uchechi Kanu expressed gratitude to Senator Ubah for his role in enabling the visit.

Speaking on a radio program in the United Kingdom addressed to IPOB members, she extended appreciation to other Igbo politicians, governors, and political figures who have shown concern for Kanu’s situation.

Acknowledging the efforts of these individuals, Uchechi Kanu highlighted their collective advocacy for a peaceful resolution to her husband’s detention.

She emphasized their commitment to securing a roundtable discussion for Kanu’s release, underscoring the widespread concern among Igbo elites regarding his unlawful detention.
