Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Body Enhancement Surgery Influenced by Lil Wayne’s Remarks
In a candid revelation, renowned rapper Nicki Minaj recently disclosed that she underwent body enhancement surgery due to feeling inadequate after comments made by fellow rap star Lil Wayne.
During an episode of The Joe Budden podcast hosted by rapper Joe Budden, Minaj shared her personal story and shed light on why she decided to undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
Minaj, an award-winning artist, recounted how Lil Wayne used to tease her during her younger years for not having a voluptuous backside like the women he typically brought to the studio.
The 40-year-old rapper expressed regret for allowing societal pressure to influence her decision to undergo surgery, emphasizing that she had sought it in order to feel complete.
During the podcast, Minaj revealed that Lil Wayne frequently brought different well-endowed ladies to the studio for each session, which led to discussions about their bodies.
This constant comparison made her feel like she did not fit into the image that was expected within the Hip Hop culture.
It particularly hurt because Lil Wayne, whom she looked up to when she was starting out in the industry, was the one making these remarks.
The Super Bass crooner expressed that she was led to believe that having ample curves was the ideal representation of a woman in the Hip Hop industry.
While Lil Wayne’s comments were made teasingly, they deeply affected her, and she took them seriously.
Unbeknownst to Lil Wayne, his remarks made her uncomfortable and ultimately influenced her decision to pursue body enhancement surgery.
