Minister leads testing of e-gates at Abuja airport

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, conducted a trial run of the newly installed electronic gates (e-gates) at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, indicating the project’s near-completion.

Tunji-Ojo disclosed that the Abuja airport e-gates will commence full operation of the by the following week.

He was accompanied by top officials including the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary and the Comptroller-General of Immigration.

The minister Stresses that the e-gates’ aim to streamline passenger movement and eliminate bureaucratic hurdles across key airports in Nigeria.

Tunji-Ojo lauded the collaborative efforts of stakeholders, including the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria and the Nigeria Customs Service, in aligning with the President’s agenda to enhance passenger experiences and national security.

He commended the Minister of Aviation and other critical stakeholders for their contributions to this transformative initiative.
