Michael Edwards: Liverpool begins rebuild post Jurgen Klopp

Michael Edwards gives the Liverpool fans a reason to be hopeful post Klopp.

The famous Reds of Liverpool are quite the enigma aren’t they?

Just when the chips appear to be crumbling for them, they climb back up to find their path again.

According to the reports doing the rounds, the Reds are set to welcome the return of influential figure, Michael Edwards back at the club before the international break sets in on the team.

The famous Michael Edwards was once the club’s Sporting Director who engineered the signings of key figures at the club such as Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker, Sadio Mane, Ibrahima Konate and of course had to rival Jurgen Klopp to bring in Mohamed Salah.

The influential figure returns to Liverpool in time to take over as the club’s head of football operations this time around, and restructure the club.

Michael Edwards will also see the appointment of a new Sporting Director who is reported to be AFC Bournemouth’s Sporting Director, Richard Hughes.

Hughes will be departing his role at Bournemouth at the end of the season, and is believed to have an agreement in place to join Liverpool.

At this point in time, there is no official confirmation by the club on these appointments, but credible sources have reported that the groundworks have been laid towards restructuring the club for the future.

Michael Edwards prior to agreeing a move back to Liverpool Football Club, was also courted by Manchester United and Todd Boehly’s Chelsea to join their ranks.

The end of Jurgen Klopp’s era at Liverpool may be hurtful for its fanbase, but the club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group are invested in keeping the club on a steady path.
