Mane to Bayern rumor dead on arrival—Goal Correspondent reports
Yesterday was probably a day that flourished with all the Liverpool news and rumors, starting with Jurgen Klopp and the Pep Guardiola scuffle with words and all, to Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa coming up against his boyhood club, Liverpool in Today’s fixture.
But the one news that most certainly saddened Liverpool hearts was the reports that Bundesliga giants were in talks to poach Liverpool’s star man, Sadio Mane from the club amidst the opening of the coming transfer window.
According to yesterday’s reports, the rumors were on Mane and Liverpool having difficulties agreeing a contract extension amidst the Salah contract talks. Sky Sports News even added to the panic by confirming the Senegalese’s agent had a meeting with Bayern Munich to discuss a potential move from the forward to Germany.
But contrary to the reports, Goal correspondent; Neil Jones via his social media handle debunked the rumors, confirming Mane’s agent did hold talks with Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamdizic but the discussion were on another client, Konrad Leimer rather than Mane.
The reports also confirm that Bayern Munich will likely be unable to make the move in the summer for Mane either way, with club sources dismissing the talks of a Mane move away from Liverpool as a ploy to accelerate contract talks with the player.
Although it is confirmed that the club has every intention to start contract talks with the player immediately the season is done with. It also states that Mane’s agent and Liverpool’s coming sporting director, Julian Ward have a good relationship and had met during Liverpool’s win against Villarreal recently.
With all that in mind, the reports state Sadio Mane is most focused on ending the season on a good note with Liverpool.
