Liverpool working secretly to hijack Manchester United move

Liverpool have had quite the transfer season, and if nothing, have created quite the story and narrative that could surely fit into a movie plot, and now it seems the Reds are set on unleashing another narrative, this time with arch rivals Manchester United.

According to reports, the Reds have called Manchester United’s target, Sofyan Amrabat’s agents to understand the reason behind the delay in the move of the Moroccan international to Old Trafford, and if possible, to hijack the move.

Sofyan Amrabat reportedly has an agreement with Manchester United since June to join the club, however the move has stalled following a delay in the sale of Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay from Old Trafford.

Prior to the summer transfer window however, Amrabat has made his intentions clear of wanting to play in the Premier League, and with Manchester United stalling over the deal, Liverpool could stand a chance to hijack the move, and this time be successful.

The 26-year-old played a pivotal role in helping Morocco through to the Semi-Final of the FIFA Men’s World Cup last year and even earned a place in FIFA’s Team of the Tournament, alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Josko Gvardiol.

Since then, the Moroccan has been on the radar of a host of clubs, and with his contract running until next summer at Fiorentina, Manchester United or Liverpool stand a chance of getting Amrabat on a a reported release clause of €30 million (around £26 million).

Speaking on the move via his Twitter account, Fabrizio Romano said;

“No formal bid made [by Liverpool] made yet – just contact to be informed on conditions of the deal.”
