Liverpool set to sign Japanese star, Wataru Endo as new Midfielder

The transfer window may have turn sour for Liverpool this summer, but the Reds aren’t ready to be held back by it as they are reportedly set to sign Wataru Endo from VfB Stuttgart.
The move reportedly takes Wataru Endo to Anfield on a fee worth €18m according to the exclusive story shared by transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.
The player’s medical has already been booked on Merseyside with Endo set to travel in the coming days to Liverpool after asking Stuttgart to leave the club.
The statistics provided by @squawkafootball present a compelling case for the midfielder’s prowess on the field, particularly against Bundesliga midfielders since the commencement of the 2020/21 season.
Endō’s standout performance includes being the foremost player in terms of possession won in the defensive third with an impressive tally of 254 instances.
Additionally, he clinched the title for most aerial duels won with an astounding count of 219. Notably, his contribution to the team’s defensive line also extends to the most clearances (175) and most headed clearances (105) among his peers.
Endō’s influence isn’t confined to defensive duties alone. He ranks second in terms of touches (6511) and passes completed (3940), indicative of his ball-handling capabilities and distribution skills.
In the crucial middle third of the field, Endō shines as he secures the second-highest number of possession won in the middle final third (404) and boasts an impressive tally of tackles (208).
Though the signing may not be of the calibre of a signing like Moises Caicedo of Chelsea, the Liverpool fandom will be sure to embrace some sign of transfer activity on the club’s part heading into the season.
