Liverpool receive injury boost ahead of Newcastle fixture
It appears the 9-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth has set Liverpool back to winning ways, and with recent images from the Merseyside outfit’s training centre, the team seems on course for an injury boost.
Photos from the club’s AXA training facility reveals Joel Matip, Calvin Ramsay, and Curtis Jones are back in training ahead of the Wednesday clash against Newcastle.
The return to fitness corresponds with the team bouncing back from a terrible start to the season to hit a 9-0 win last weekend against Bournemouth.
It is a much needed boost for the Reds considering the team face tougher opponents in the coming days in the Premier League and ahead of the Champions League restart.
Centre-back Joel Matip was photographed all smiles at the AXA training ground in Kirkby on Monday afternoon, as he joined in exercises and sessions with the main group.
The 31-year-old last played for the Reds in the opening day draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage but now looks to be back in contention atleast for the weekend after recovering from a muscle strain.
The midfield options also has been boosted with the arrival of Curtis Jones who picked up an injury during the club’s pre-season.
Jones’ return seems about timely for the Reds who have recently lost Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita alongside Alex Oxlade Chamberlain to injury through the start of the season.
With Liverpool needing to recover from dropping points in their first 3 games, they will need all the help they can get going into the season post the summer window closing down.
