Liverpool owners key into the Scouse spirit, refuse to give up
Fenway Sports Group may have ventured into owning Liverpool for what may be considered as a strictly business decision, but it appears, the Scouse spirit of ‘Never Give Up’ is starting to rub off on the American syndicate.
According to Italian Sports Journalist, Fabrizio Romano, FSG are still persistent on getting Michael Edwards back at Liverpool for another stint again after his 3-year absence from the club.
In a post via his X-handle, Romano stated that Fenway Sports Group (FSG), are reportedly making a final attempt to bring Michael Edwards back to the club, signaling a desire to revamp the football structure with a new sporting director at the helm.

FSG is keen on having Edwards, who previously served as Liverpool’s sporting director, return to oversee football operations and implement a fresh organizational framework. However, despite FSG’s interest, Edwards has yet to indicate his willingness to accept the offer.
The club is pushing for a swift resolution to the matter, aiming to finalize the new structure as soon as possible. Sources suggest that Liverpool’s owners are eager for Edwards to make a decision promptly, with a deadline set for March. Should Edwards decline the offer, Liverpool will proceed with alternative plans.
However, Romano notes that the timing of this decision is crucial for Liverpool, as they aim to establish the new football structure before appointing a new manager.
