Liverpool Lining Up James Maddison Transfer In January

Midfield signing for Liverpool is something the Merseyside club cannot ignore anymore and with a couple of players with long-term injuries or injury prone, a January transfer is of paramount importance for the Reds, and as per reports, James Maddison could be the next piece in their midfield jigsaw.

According to reports, Liverpool is preparing a January transfer offer for James Maddison, a star for Leicester and England.

The 26-year-old Maddison has been playing superbly for Leicester in the Premier League this year.

The attacking midfielder has made 14 appearances for the Foxes this season, with four assists and seven goals.

His performance won him a spot in the England World Cup team traveling to Qatar.

He did not, however, participate for even a single minute as Gareth Southgate’s team was eliminated at the quarterfinal stage after a spirited 2-1 loss to the defending champions France.

Fichajes claims that Liverpool is thinking about signing Maddison during the January transfer window.

With Diogo Jota out until February with a calf injury and Luis Diaz anticipated to be sidelined until March following knee surgery, Jurgen Klopp’s team is in need of attacking reinforcements.

Despite being only four points above the relegation spots, Leicester is now ranked 13th in the Premier League.

With a probable relegation struggle ahead, Brendan Rodgers’ team will be reluctant to lose their finest player in the middle of the season.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle is reportedly mulling a bid for Maddison, who has a £60 million price tag set by Leicester ahead of the transfer window.
