The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, has warned officers against harassing residents and illegal duties.

CP Odumosu gave the warning on Tuesday while addressing patrol and guard operatives at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja.

He cautioned officers attached to companies, organisations, agencies and VIPs against performing illegal duties.

Odumosu added that personnel who travel outside Lagos without an official permission will be sanctioned.

The senior cop enjoined them to “stop acts that demean and capable of dragging the name of the Nigeria Police Force into disrepute”.

The CP, however, advised them to take their personal safety as priority and be security conscious at all times.

The Lagos Police Command is the Lagos State branch of the Nigerian Police Force. It is responsible for law enforcement and crime prevention in the state. The commissioner of this command is often appointed by the Inspector-General of Police.
