Klopp leaving means Man City is leaving too -- Guardiola

If they weren’t rivals, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola might be bros.

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola for once does not hide his feelings or mince his words about his arch rival, Jurgen Klopp leaving the premier league after the conclusion of the current campaign.

Speaking to reporters while reacting to the news, the Spaniard expressed his surprise at learning that the famous German will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

According to Klopp, it was a decision that was born out of a dwelling energy reserve to keep up with the demands of the Premier League and the challenge of managing Liverpool.

Reacting to Klopp’s upcoming exit, Pep Guardiola, being a rival manager to the former Borussia Dortmund boss, looks at the brighter side it will have for his Manchester City team and their future in the Premier League without Klopp’s Liverpool.

“I am a little bit surprised. He is an incredible manager. I don’t know him closely but he is an incredible person as well. I have a feeling that at the end of the season when he is leaving, part of us at Man City is leaving too.”

Reflecting on the fierce competition between Manchester City and Liverpool in recent years, Guardiola admitted that Klopp’s departure will have an impact on the rivalry, stating,

“Liverpool has been our biggest rival in recent years. Personally, he at Dortmund was also my biggest rival. So he will be missed. Personally, I will miss him.”

On the potential of Jurgen Klopp returning back, Guardiola has this to say;

“He doesn’t admit it but he will be back.”
