Keke rider kills Girlfriend in Umuahia, dumps body in Bush

In a shocking incident that unfolded in Umuahia, Abia State, a tricycle operator known as Chigozie has been arrested on suspicion of killing his girlfriend and disposing of her body in a bush.

The tragic event occurred on Wednesday, but vigilant villagers were quick to apprehend the suspect.

According to reports, Chigozie, a resident of Ajata Ibeku, allegedly engaged in a heated altercation with his girlfriend, whose identity remains undisclosed.

During the altercation, it is claimed that the girl slipped and fatally hit her head on the floor, leading to her untimely demise.

Another witness from the village suggested a different account, alleging that Chigozie was engaged in intense sexual activity with his girlfriend, which tragically resulted in her death.

Nze, a villager who witnessed the aftermath of the incident, revealed that the suspect was caught by some youths from the community after he had finished disposing of the lifeless body in a nearby dustbin and attempted to flee the scene. The quick response of the villagers ensured that the suspect could not evade justice.

Law enforcement authorities were promptly informed, and Chigozie was handed over to the police for further investigation. The identity of the deceased girlfriend has not been made public, and her body has been transferred to an undisclosed mortuary for preservation and examination.

As of the time of this report, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Chioma Maureen Chinaka, has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.

However, it is expected that the police will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event and bring the perpetrator to justice.
