Julian Nagelsmann's age, a big Concern for Todd Boehly

Chelsea Football Club and its owner, Todd Boehly have started their search for a new manager following the dismissal of Graham Potter. However, the Blues are reportedly hesitant about the age of one potential candidate, former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann.

Despite his impressive reputation, the club is reportedly concerned as he is only 35 years old.

According to Sky Sports, Nagelsmann has emerged as a leading target for the Chelsea manager position. The German coach has recently left Bayern and is available for the role. However, his age has become a point of concern for the club’s owner, Todd Boehly.

Nagelsmann’s impressive record as a coach is undeniable. He became the youngest head coach in Bundesliga history when he took over at Hoffenheim and led RB Leipzig to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Nagelsmann then moved to Bayern, where he won the Bundesliga title in his first season in charge.

Despite his accomplishments, Chelsea’s owners are reportedly hesitant about hiring a coach as young as Nagelsmann. The club is set to interview at least five candidates for the job and will take their time before making a decision on who to appoint.

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has also emerged as a potential candidate for the Chelsea manager’s job. The Argentine is believed to have impressed the club’s owners with his managerial skills and experience.

Potter’s dismissal from the Chelsea manager’s job came after less than seven months in charge. Some players reportedly became frustrated with his decisions and the lack of progress on the pitch. It was even reported that some players used Harry Potter references towards the 47-year-old, showing their lack of respect for him as a manager.

Chelsea will undoubtedly be looking for a manager who can lead the team to success both domestically and in Europe. With Nagelsmann’s impressive track record, he could be a strong candidate for the job despite his age. However, the club’s owners will need to weigh up his potential against their concerns over his youthfulness.
