Ike Ekweremadu and Wife Caught Harvesting Organs in the UK

 

The United Kingdom’s (UK) metropolitan police confirmed the arrest of Ike Ekweremadu, a Nigerian for organ harvesting.

According to reports, the Nigerian was caught together with his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu on Thursday.

The duo was immediately charged with conspiring to bring a child into the United Kingdom for the purpose of harvesting the organs.

From the reports, the arrest is said to have followed an investigation conducted by the force’s specialist crime team.

The couple has so far been remanded into custody and is set to appear at  the Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court today.

“Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55 (10.9.66) of Nigeria is charged with conspiracy to arrange/facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting,” the statement read.

“Ike Ekweremadu, 60 (12.05.62) of Nigeria is charged with conspiracy to arrange/facilitate the travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting.

“A child has been safeguarded and we are working closely with partners on continued support.

“As criminal proceedings are now under way we will not be providing further details.” The statement confirmed.
