"I have lost a reliable ally" -- Yahaya Bello weeps

The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has expressed profound sorrow over the unexpected passing of Mohammed Dan Asabe, the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government.

Dan Asabe reportedly succumbed to a brief illness in the early hours of Friday at a hospital in Lokoja.

In an official statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Onogwu, on Friday in Lokoja, Governor Bello conveyed his shock and described the death of Dan Asabe as a monumental tragedy and a heartbreaking loss.

The governor took a moment to reflect on the unique qualities of the late council chairman, praising his tolerance, friendliness, and passion for the well-being of his constituents.

Governor Yahaya Bello extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed to Almighty Allah for the eternal rest of Mohammed Dan Asabe’s soul. He also sought divine strength for the grieving family to bear the irreplaceable loss.

The governor, visibly affected by the demise of the Lokoja Local Government chairman, attended the funeral rites and urged both the family and the people of the council area to accept the tragedy as the will of Allah.

In his tribute, Governor Yahaya Bello expressed deep admiration for Dan Asabe’s dedication, hard work, and compassion, describing him as a reliable associate and a great confidant.

The Kogi Governor said;

“Hon. Dan Asabe was a hardworking, dedicated, and compassionate young man who was a friend to all.

“His demise is a monumental tragedy, leaving deep sorrow in the hearts of everyone.

“I am deeply shocked and devastated at the news of Dan Asabe’s death. His untimely passing is heartbreaking and painful.

“I have lost a reliable associate, a great confidant, and an administrator who toiled tirelessly for the betterment of his people.”
